We are the nhow hotel London – a quirky, unique and fun hotel on the border of Shoreditch - we are very different (in the best possible way) to any other hotel in London both in terms of look and feel. At nhow London, our aim is to ensure that all our guests have a different yet positive attitude towards us, and every time they come back to visit, we want each and every one to feel that it is a new experience. Our goal is to create a sense of expectation, a zest for discovery and an appetite to return.
nhow London (pronounced “now”) had opened in January 2020 and re-opened its door in July 2021 following temporary closure due to pandemic. The hotel has been designed by Sir Norman Foster’s acclaimed architectural firm Foster & Partners. The hotel themed is ‘Old London Reloaded’, designed by architect James Soane and combines British icons with unconventional contemporary elements. These include a Big Ben rocket sculpture in the lobby and a wood installation around an LED fireplace. Across eight storeys, the hotel features a restaurant, bar, gym, networking spaces and meeting rooms.

We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional with a strong background in hotel operation who can confidently manage day-to-day operations and lead all departments. You’ll be a dynamic leader who inspires teams to follow your lead, makes quick, confident decisions, and thrives under pressure. You must be fast-thinking, deadline-driven, and able to balance operational excellence with cost control. While the commercial strategy is managed by the General Manager, you’ll be ready to step in when needed and support key initiatives. MAIN COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

- Proven experience in hospitality management, preferably in a 4-star or lifestyle hotel.
- Strong leadership that inspires teams to follow your lead.
- Quick decision-making and ability to act fast under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Expertise in cost control and budgeting.
- Knowledge of hotel-level commercial processes (billing, chargebacks, commission control).
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on approach with a focus on efficiency and problem-solving.
- Previous experience as an operation manager or deputy GM is a plus.
What part will you play in creating the unforgettable?
You will act as second-in-command, stepping in for the General Manager when needed and ensuring smooth operations across all departments. Your responsibilities include:
- Oversee and coordinate all hotel departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Take full command in the General Manager’s absence, ensuring continuity and decisive leadership.
- Lead the team through unexpected challenges with confidence, resolving issues quickly and minimising impact on guests and operations.
- Manage critical incidents calmly and effectively, coordinating resources and implementing solutions under pressure.
- Lead and motivate department heads and their teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal standards.
- Handle guest complaints and queries when needed.
- Provide coverage for Duty Manager shifts when required, which may include weekends, Bank holidays, or evenings.
- Drive operational improvements and champion change initiatives.
- Monitor and control operational costs to achieve GOP targets.
- Manage labour costs, rosters, and payroll within budgetary constraints.
- Manage commercial processes at hotel level such as ensuring upselling and cross-selling throughout the hotel.
- Coordinate training and development for staff in line with hotel policy.
- Ensure all departmental KPIs are achieved.
