Our hotel in the centrum of Helsinki is a lively, people-focused workplace where no two days are the same. As a Maintenance Officer, you play a key role in our daily operations and in delivering a seamless hotel experience. You’ll work closely with our Maintenance Supervisor and hotel teams, ensuring that our facilities are safe, efficient and always guest-ready.
Your mission
As a Maintenance Officer, your mission is to support the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel by ensuring that all technical systems, equipment and facilities function reliably and according to standards. You’ll be a hands-on problem solver, a trusted support for your colleagues, and an important part of our hotel team.
You will also be responsible for the proper operation, maintenance and inspection of all mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment ensuring that all standards are met.
What will you do?
- Assist the maintenance supervisor in the day to day work and oversee the preventive maintenance of all equipment and facilities.
- Carry out all corrective maintenance activities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist in the implementation of security measures and supervise availability of necessary permits.
- Organize with the supervisor the proposals for investment, replacement, adjustment of contracts with vendors.
- Support the maintenance supervisor in the organization of the duties and maintenance activities of external vendors into the hotel, and coordinate these activities with all the departments involved.
- Collaborate in the control and follow up of energy consumptions and maintenance costs e.g. water and electricity.
- Assist in the setup of meeting rooms (audiovisuals, lighting, etc).
- Solve guest incidents and issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
What are we looking for?
- At least 2-3 years’ of maintenance experience preferably in a hotel/service industry of similar size and complexity.
- Finnish and English skills
- Flexibility for working hours, this role is mainly Monday-Friday but occassionally evenings and weekends are needed
- Vocational Training (electrical and electronics, HVAC, industrial maintenance and related fields).
- Knowledge in HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), electric and electronic systems.
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Organized and proactive.
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
