Our hotel in the centrum of Helsinki is a lively, people-focused workplace where no two days are the same. As a Maintenance Officer, you play a key role in our daily operations and in delivering a seamless hotel experience. You’ll work closely with our Maintenance Supervisor and hotel teams, ensuring that our facilities are safe, efficient and always guest-ready.

Your mission

As a Maintenance Officer, your mission is to support the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel by ensuring that all technical systems, equipment and facilities function reliably and according to standards. You’ll be a hands-on problem solver, a trusted support for your colleagues, and an important part of our hotel team.

You will also be responsible for the proper operation, maintenance and inspection of all mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment ensuring that all standards are met.

What will you do?

• Assist the maintenance supervisor in the day to day work and oversee the preventive maintenance of all equipment and facilities.
• Carry out all corrective maintenance activities in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist in the implementation of security measures and supervise availability of necessary permits.
• Organize with the supervisor the proposals for investment, replacement, adjustment of contracts with vendors.
• Support the maintenance supervisor in the organization of the duties and maintenance activities of external vendors into the hotel, and coordinate these activities with all the departments involved.
• Collaborate in the control and follow up of energy consumptions and maintenance costs e.g. water and electricity.
• Assist in the setup of meeting rooms (audiovisuals, lighting, etc).
• Solve guest incidents and issues in a timely and appropriate manner.

What are we looking for?

• Preferably 2–3 years of maintenance experience, preferably within the hotel, hospitality, or service industry in a property of similar size and complexity.
• A background in construction is essential.
• Good command of English; Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
• Flexibility to work varying hours. The regular schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, although occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
• Relevant vocational training in a technical field, or equivalent experience in electrical systems, electronics, HVAC, industrial maintenance, construction, or a related discipline.
• Solid understanding of HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) as well as electrical and electronic systems is an advantage
• Well-organised, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Capable of working independently while also contributing as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions efficiently.
• Positive, service-minded attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
