Are you someone who enjoys fixing things, working with your hands, and making sure everything is in great condition? Do you take pride in solving practical problems and helping others? If yes – we’d love to hear from you.

Our hotel in the heart of Helsinki is a lively, people-focused workplace where no two days are the same. As a Maintenance Officer, you’ll play an important role in keeping our hotel safe, functional and guest-ready. Working closely with our Maintenance Supervisor and the rest of the hotel team, you’ll carry out a variety of maintenance and repair tasks that help create an exceptional guest experience.

Your mission

As a Maintenance Officer/Handyman, your mission is to ensure that the hotel’s facilities remain well maintained, safe and welcoming. You’ll take care of day-to-day repairs, support your colleagues with practical maintenance needs, and help keep guest rooms and public areas in excellent condition.

What will you do?

  • Carry out general maintenance and handyman tasks throughout the hotel.
  • Perform filling, painting and finishing work to maintain high presentation standards.
  • Repair furniture, fixtures and fittings as needed.
  • Complete minor construction and repair work across guest rooms and public areas.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel departments and guests.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with planned preventive maintenance.
  • Support external contractors when required.
  • Help with meeting room setups, including audiovisual equipment and lighting.
  • Follow health, safety and security procedures at all times.
  • Work proactively to identify maintenance needs before they become larger issues.

What are we looking for?

  • At least 2–3 years of maintenance experience, preferably within the hotel, hospitality, service or construction industry, or in a property of similar size and complexity.
  • Construction skills are essential.
  • Experience with filling, painting, furniture repairs and general building maintenance.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and a genuine willingness to get things done.
  • Ability to follow instructions while working independently and taking initiative.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Positive, service-minded attitude and attention to detail.
  • Good command of English is required; Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours. The regular schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, although occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
