Looking to start or grow your career in data analytics and internal audit? We are seeking an Internal Audit Junior Data Analyst to join our team in Hoofddorp.

 

As a Data Analyst, you will join a dynamic and collaborative Internal Audit team, playing a key role in supporting the organization's fraud detection and prevention efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting large datasets to identify fraud patterns, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Working closely with the Internal Audit team, you will help design and implement data analysis, visualization, and alerting tools to detect potential losses, enhance controls, and support internal audit objectives.
 
This position reports directly to the Internal Audit Director and is a full-time role based in Hoofddorp (Amsterdam), offering a hybrid working environment with 1–2 days of remote work per week. The role also includes approximately 20% travel.

Your Role at a Glance

 

  • Audit Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal audit team members to identify data requirements, areas for process improvement and develop data-driven solutions to optimize audit processes.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze, interpret and correlate multiple large datasets to identify fraud, trends, anomalies, and correlations using SAP and TMS (MHEA Property Management System).
  • Data Visualization: Create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present findings to stakeholders, including audit committee members, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Data Extraction and Processing: Extract data from various systems and process it for analysis using Caseware IDEA and queries.
  • Audit Data Analytics: Develop and implement data analytics models to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement in the organization's operational & financial results, and compliance.
  • Data Governance: Identify and mitigate data quality issues and ensure data integrity.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to internal audit team members and hotel staff and management team for control/fraud topics.
  • Staying Up to Date with Industry Trends: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analysis and visualization, applying this knowledge to improve audit processes and results.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit   

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in data analytics within a business environment (e.g., Finance, Internal Audit, Controlling, or similar functions).
  • Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling capabilities.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, preferably Power BI.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and preparation tools (preferably Caseware IDEA).
  • Knowledge of SAP R/3 and HANA.Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS), including SQL, MySQL, and Oracle databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, detect risks, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Highly detail-oriented, results-driven, and equipped with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and a proactive mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish would be a plus.
  • CIA certification is desirable (or willingness to obtain it).
