What will be your mission?
As Assistant Director of Engineering (M/F), you will be responsible for assisting the Director of Engineering and Maintenance in planning, coordinating and supervising engineering and maintenance services for Urban hotels. You will be required to perform administrative tasks and manage some of the essential requirements to ensure that projects are completed on time.
What will you do?
- Collaborates with the Director of Engineering and Maintenance in defining the department's operating policies;
- Develops cross-functional work procedures;
- Collaborates in budget control and compliance with maintenance objectives and targets (KPIs);
- Assists in the preparation of Investment Plans (CAPEX), together with the Maintenance Managers, for approval by the Department Director;
- Assists in market consultation, preparation, planning, and supervision of CAPEX projects;
- Develops the Preventive Maintenance Plan (PMP) for facilities and equipment, in conjunction with the Maintenance Managers; supervises compliance using Maintenance Management Software;
- Performs random inspections or checks on facilities and equipment in order to diagnose their state of repair and operation;
Monitors inspections and tests on facilities and equipment; - Ensures the correct recording of energy and water consumption, in coordination with the Maintenance Managers, and prepares comparisons with previous years and energy forecasts;
- Prepares reports and completes technical documentation related to the activity performed;
- Assists Maintenance Managers in monitoring the implementation of the PMP, including compliance with technical assistance contracts by External Service Providers (ESPs); Analyzes ESP intervention reports and collaborates in assessing the need for corrective action and monitoring its completion;
- Assists in defining technical specifications for external services, both periodic and non-periodic, and prepares PES selection requirements;
- Assists in market consultation, preparation, awarding, and supervision of the delivery of Goods and Services, including corrective actions contracted to PES;
- Assists in compliance with Self-Protection Measures and other fire safety standards in the context of maintenance and engineering activities;
- Participates in the management of human resources assigned to their service – selection, performance evaluation, definition of training needs, verification of attendance, control of attendance and justifications;
- Assists in forwarding maintenance requests (in the computer application in use) to internal and external teams; periodically checks for pending requests; prepares and comments on task execution reports with a view to optimizing costs and resources;
- Controls, through observation and on-site inspection, compliance with hygiene, quality, environment, and safety standards in their department;
- Replaces one of the Maintenance Managers in the event of prolonged absence.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mandatory).
- Knowledge of plumbing, painting, and electromechanics (preferred).
- Knowledge of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical and electronic systems (preferred).
- Knowledge of fire prevention and fighting, telecommunications (preferred).
- Knowledge of applicable legislation (preferred).
- Practical knowledge of Budget Management, Maintenance and/or Construction Activity Planning, Operational Results Analysis, and Action Plans;
- Knowledge of the local language and English (fluent spoken) will be valued;
