As part of Minor Hotels, the region of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas is responsible for more than 350 properties in 30 countries and plans to grow across all segments, with a focus on its upper-upscale and luxury brands.
What will be your mission?
This position sits within the Europe & Americas region and reports to the VP of PR and Communications. The role involves close collaboration with PR leads across markets, hotel teams and global PR agencies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for PR for our lifestyle brands, including the development and execution of strategic plans, events, press releases and other communications activities, while consistently ensuring high standards.
What will you do?
- Develop and execute annual PR plans and an ongoing PR strategy for the Avani and nhow brands, working closely with PR leads across markets and hotel teams and providing continuous support.
- Develop annual PR budgets for the brands and provide guidance on property-level PR budgets.
- Update brand PR guidelines and press kits.
- Manage international PR agencies, including the development of market-led strategies and plans, the ongoing creation and distribution of press releases and content, brand PR campaigns, press trips and media coverage reporting.
- Participate in media events and media calls and support their organisation.
- Build and maintain relationships with international media
- Proactively identify PR opportunities to promote the brands and their properties.
- Support hotel PR teams in organising and hosting international group press trips, as well as visits by individual journalists and celebrities, working in partnership with local institutions, tourism boards, airlines and leading cultural attractions where appropriate.
- Support the creation of hotel-led events that generate compelling PR content.
- Identify sponsorship, partnership and cross-promotion opportunities that benefit the brands and/or their properties in Europe and LATAM.
- Ensure that hotels are entered, nominated or listed in key national, regional and international awards and travel and lifestyle media rankings.
- Deliver brand PR induction sessions and provide strategic support to new team members.
- Use digital tools to track brand share of voice across markets and develop strategies to maintain a competitive position against relevant competitor sets.
- Conduct ongoing market research on relevant competitor hotel brands and keep property and corporate teams informed of competitor activity across all markets.
- Demonstrate strong digital communications expertise, including the development of engaging social media strategies and content, including bloggers, influencers, celebrities, and integrated campaigns that amplify brand visibility and engagement.
- Prepare regular PR activity reports and media coverage summaries for each brand.
What are we looking for?
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience, preferably including time within a hospitality group rather than solely individual hotels, or at a PR agency specialising in lifestyle and consumer-brand communications, ideally within the hospitality sector.
- International experience is highly valued.
- Experience developing and executing global PR and social media plans for brands, rather than solely for individual hotels, would be a strong advantage.
- Experience in PR and social media for hotel soft brands, particularly within franchise models, would be valued.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications or Public Relations.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English, with further languages an advantage.
