Are you interested in a new challenge at Minor Hotels Europe & Americas?

The Wolseley is a luxury hospitality brand for modern travellers, connecting guests to genuine places, people and stories through personal experiences and heartfelt hospitality in some of the world’s most exciting destinations.

Salary Range: USD 180K – 210K year

For The Wolseley New York, we are seeking an exceptional Director of Sales to shape the commercial identity of one of the city’s most anticipated luxury hospitality destinations.

This is far more than a traditional sales leadership role. We are looking for a commercially driven and culturally connected leader who can position The Wolseley New York as a defining social landmark within the city’s luxury landscape, creating desirability, relevance and lasting market impact.

What will be your mission?

As Director of Sales, you will lead the commercial strategy of The Wolseley New York, driving revenue performance, market positioning and long-term brand desirability.

You will be responsible for building a high-value client ecosystem, strengthening relationships across luxury travel, fashion, finance, entertainment and cultural communities, while ensuring the property becomes a must-book destination for both global travellers and influential local audiences.

Working closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing, Managing Director, Revenue Management and Brand teams, you will help establish The Wolseley New York not only as a luxury hotel, but as a recognised social institution within the city.

What will you do?

  • Lead the commercial strategy for The Wolseley New York, driving sustainable revenue growth while protecting the property's premium positioning.
  • Position the hotel as a defining social landmark within New York’s luxury and cultural landscape, ensuring it becomes part of the city’s daily rhythm rather than simply another hospitality destination.
  • Drive demand through high-value business segments, including luxury leisure, premium travel networks, fashion, entertainment, finance and cultural communities.
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies that prioritise brand desirability, relationship-based business development and long-term value creation.
  • Build and nurture a high-value ecosystem of clients, partners, advisors and influencers across key source markets and luxury industries.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with luxury brands, art institutions, private members’ networks, media organisations and cultural stakeholders, reinforcing the hotel’s relevance beyond traditional hospitality channels.
  • Personally cultivate relationships with leading luxury travel partners, including key consortia, agency networks and premium travel advisors.
  • Attend major luxury travel events, trade shows and industry gatherings to strengthen market presence, create new business opportunities and represent the brand globally.
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue Management to ensure rate integrity, intelligent inventory allocation and premium market positioning.
  • Drive commercial performance across Rooms, Suites and Food & Beverage, recognising the role of F&B as a key expression of The Wolseley brand experience.
  • Build, inspire and develop a best-in-class commercial team, fostering a culture of ownership, precision, creativity and excellence.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador within the global luxury travel community, representing The Wolseley with credibility, influence and discretion.

What are we looking for?

  • More than 10 years of experience in senior commercial leadership roles within luxury hospitality.
  • Proven success driving commercial performance within iconic urban luxury hotels, flagship hospitality assets or lifestyle-led luxury brands.
  • Strong understanding of the luxury travel ecosystem and premium customer journeys.
  • Established network across luxury travel, cultural, fashion, entertainment and lifestyle sectors.
  • Experience launching, repositioning or growing high-profile hospitality assets would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with a deep understanding of luxury brand positioning and market perception.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate trends, identify opportunities and create long-term market relevance.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire and develop high-performing commercial teams.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate brand identity into meaningful commercial opportunities.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders and functions in a dynamic luxury environment.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an asset.
