For The Wolseley Hotel New York, we are seeking an exceptional Director of Marketing & Communications to lead the hotel’s integrated marketing, communications and public relations strategy, shaping the visibility, desirability and cultural relevance of one of New York’s most anticipated luxury hospitality destinations.

 

This is a unique opportunity for a strategic, creative and commercially minded marketing leader to bring The Wolseley’s distinctive heritage, cultural sophistication and design-led hospitality to life across every guest touchpoint, brand channel and market-facing initiative. 

 

What will be your mission?

 

As Director of Marketing & Communications, you will lead the strategic vision, development and execution of an integrated luxury marketing and communications programme for The Wolseley Hotel New York, covering Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa & Wellness and key brand experiences. 

You will be responsible for elevating brand desirability, strengthening market presence and increasing awareness in New York and key international feeder markets through compelling storytelling, strategic partnerships, digital excellence, public relations and culturally relevant brand activations. 

Working closely with Sales, Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Spa, Operations, Brand, PR and regional leadership teams, you will ensure that all marketing and communications initiatives support business performance while consistently reflecting The Wolseley’s elevated identity, tone of voice and luxury positioning. 

 

What will you do?

 

  • Lead the creation and execution of the annual integrated Marketing & Communications plan for Rooms, Food & Beverage and Spa & Wellness, ensuring alignment with commercial goals, brand strategy and business priorities.
  • Shape and elevate The Wolseley Hotel New York’s positioning as a distinctive luxury destination within New York’s cultural, social and hospitality landscape.
  • Develop revenue-driven marketing initiatives that support occupancy, ADR growth, Food & Beverage performance, Spa bookings and overall share of wallet.
  • Lead storytelling across all channels, ensuring The Wolseley’s heritage, design-led hospitality, cultural sophistication and guest experiences are communicated with consistency and impact.
  • Oversee all marketing and communications initiatives across digital, social media, CRM, partnerships, public relations, content production and collateral development.
  • Lead the hotel’s digital marketing strategy, including website content, SEO, paid media, email marketing, CRM activity and performance optimization.
  • Oversee the hotel’s social media strategy and content, ensuring a cohesive digital narrative aligned with The Wolseley’s tone, visual elegance and brand personality.
  • Manage public relations activities and media relationships, securing high-quality earned coverage across luxury, lifestyle, business, culinary, wellness and travel media.
  • Coordinate media and influencer stays, experiences and storytelling opportunities that strengthen the hotel’s visibility and reputation.
  • Identify and activate strategic partnerships with luxury brands, influencers, cultural institutions, tourism boards, airlines, consortia and relevant lifestyle partners.
  • Uphold The Wolseley’s brand standards and visual identity across all channels, ensuring consistency in tone, design, imagery, messaging and guest-facing materials.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality content, including photography, video, graphics, presentations, press materials, menus, in-room collateral and other brand assets.
  • Ensure all collateral and visual materials reflect The Wolseley’s elevated design language and cultural sensibility.
  • Partner closely with Revenue Management and Sales to develop cohesive demand-generation strategies across all guest segments.
  • Manage the annual Marketing and PR budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources, monthly reconciliation, forecasting and return on investment.
  • Review and present campaign performance, digital KPIs, PR results and marketing insights with clarity, commercial relevance and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Provide communications support when required, in close coordination with corporate and regional teams.
  • Lead and develop the property Marketing & Communications team, while managing external agencies and partners to deliver high-quality execution.
  • Build strong relationships with the Managing Director, Director of Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage, Spa, Rooms, Brand, Regional Office and Ownership stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, collaboration and commercial focus within the Marketing & Communications function.

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive senior-level experience in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations, ideally within luxury hospitality, lifestyle hospitality or related luxury sectors.
  • Proven experience building brands, leading integrated campaigns and developing marketing strategies that drive visibility, reputation and commercial performance.
  • Strong understanding of luxury hospitality, premium guest expectations and the role of storytelling in shaping brand desirability.
  • Experience leading public relations, digital marketing, social media, CRM, partnerships, content production and brand communications.
  • Strong commercial mindset, with the ability to connect marketing and communications initiatives to occupancy, ADR, Food & Beverage performance, Spa revenue and overall business objectives.
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate brand identity, guest experiences and cultural relevance into compelling narratives.
  • Strong understanding of digital performance, campaign measurement, marketing KPIs and PR impact reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage agencies, media relationships, content partners and external suppliers.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multiple functions and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, pre-opening or fast-paced luxury environment.
  • Results-driven approach, strong attention to detail and high standards of execution.
  • Creative, brand-forward mindset with a refined understanding of visual identity, tone of voice and luxury design standards.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
  • Fluency in English is required. Additional languages would be an advantage.
