The Role & Its Purpose
This is not a traditional operational spa role. As Spa Director, you will be a key strategic leader and the entrepreneurial force driving our wellness ecosystem, bridging ultra-luxury hospitality, clinical longevity and high-revenue business development.
You will own the bottom line, cultivate a high-net-worth community and act as an ambassador for wellness across the hotel. Working across partners, clinical practitioners and hotel teams, you will turn an ambitious wellness vision into an exceptional, highly personalised and commercially successful guest and member experience.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Business Vision, Innovation & Commercial Growth
- Scout, negotiate and onboard avant-garde partners across biotech, longevity clinics, luxury wellness brands and holistic expertise, actively creating new, diversified and high-margin revenue streams.
- Oversee existing partnerships with a strong commercial mindset, conducting regular performance reviews to ensure mutual success, financial growth and flawless alignment with our brand.
- Own and scale the Wellness Membership Programme. Design retention strategies, analyse lifetime value (LTV) and implement growth initiatives that build predictable, recurring revenue.
- Manage budgets with exceptional financial discipline, optimising product usage, labour costs and vendor agreements to maximise margins without ever compromising luxury.
Luxury Wellness, Longevity & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all wellness facilities, equipment and protocols strictly comply with New York Department of Health and municipal regulations, licensing laws and relevant medical-legal frameworks.
- Direct, coordinate and supervise partners, physicians, nurses and clinical practitioners, bridging clinical medicine and ultra-luxury hospitality so that clinical care is delivered with the emotional intelligence of a five-star hotel.
- Bring knowledge of cutting-edge longevity science, including IV therapy, biomarkers, sleep optimisation and hyperbaric medicine, into high-end guest journeys.
Ultra-Luxury Service, Operations & Quality
- Set and uphold the highest standards of service, aesthetics and operational flow across all spa, wellness and clinical spaces.
- Guarantee that every touchpoint, from booking to post-treatment follow-up, is hyper-personalised, anticipatory and friction-free.
- Lead stock control, purchasing, vendor management, scheduling, payroll inputs, SOPs, daily walkthroughs and quality audits to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
- Take ownership of complex guest concerns, service recovery and billing issues, resolving them with speed, discretion and care.
- Ensure accurate and secure management of guest profiles, medical waivers and intake documentation within the relevant hotel and spa systems.
- Partner with Engineering and IT on preventive maintenance for specialist medical, biohacking and thermal equipment.
PR, Community Building & Member Relations
- Act as the primary face of the wellness club, building deep, long-term relationships with VIPs, celebrities and high-net-worth individuals.
- Collaborate with Marketing and PR to position the property as a global benchmark for wellness and longevity, attracting media coverage and thought-leadership opportunities.
- Design exclusive wellness events, panels and retreats that turn clients into a deeply loyal and engaged community.
- Leadership, Culture & Hotel Integration
- Lead, inspire and develop a diverse team of therapists, clinical staff, receptionists and support colleagues, creating a high-trust and inclusive working environment.
- Build clear development paths, identify high-potential talent and promote continuous learning, engagement and retention.
- Educate, inspire and partner with Food & Beverage, Front Office, Sales and other hotel teams, positioning wellness as a key differentiator in the hotel’s market positioning and financial success.
- Navigate complex, high-pressure environments with exceptional empathy and diplomatic communication, leading multicultural teams and serving elite global clientele with confidence.
How You Can Succeed in This Role
- Proven leadership experience in luxury spa, wellness, longevity or a related premium hospitality environment, with responsibility for commercial and operational performance.
- A strong entrepreneurial and commercial mindset, with the ability to create new revenue streams, manage budgets and build recurring membership business.
- Demonstrated experience working with external partners and multidisciplinary teams. Exposure to clinical wellness or longevity services is highly valued.
- Sound understanding of New York regulatory, licensing and medical-legal requirements relevant to wellness operations.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills and the confidence to engage discerning members, VIP guests, media partners and senior stakeholders with discretion.
- Strong operational discipline across service standards, SOPs, scheduling, purchasing, stock, systems and specialist equipment.
- An inspiring, emotionally intelligent leadership style, with a track record of developing multicultural teams and maintaining high standards under pressure.
- A genuine passion for innovation, luxury hospitality, wellness and highly personalised guest experiences.
